About Me

Belinda Lorch has been a Certified Conscious Discipline® Instructor since 2007 and is based in Brevard County, FL. In 2002, she accepted a position as the preschool teacher at the Brevard Community College Cocoa Beach Lab School in Cocoa Beach, FL. She currently teaches preschool children and their parents in her own recently-created program, Creative Connections. Prior to Creative Connections, Belinda was the preschool teacher for a parent education co-op program in a college setting for eight years.

After Belinda was introduced to Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline® in 2002, and implemented it into the preschool program. The positive response of the children became apparent immediately. In addition, she found that carrying Conscious Discipline® philosophy over into her personal life created many benefits, such as increased communication and a more peaceful family dynamic. Largely due to Belinda's diligent promotion of Conscious Discipline®, the other teachers and parent educators implemented Conscious Discipline® into their own classrooms.

Belinda's passion for Conscious Discipline® led her on the journey to become a Certified Conscious Discipline® Instructor. She teaches parent and teacher workshops, sharing her own family and teaching experiences. She strives to enable others to understand how vital adult composure is to the social/emotional development of children. Belinda has also taught Conscious Discipline® sessions at state-level conferences such as FLAEYC, and workshops for the Brevard County School Board, Brevard Community College, as well as trainings for government agencies such as the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. Belinda has conducted numerous training sessions for elementary school in-service and professional development days. The composure she experiences has created even more connections in her professional and personal life.

Belinda holds a B.A. from the University of Central Florida and graduated from Rockledge High School. She is a NAEYC member and holds a Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential from the Florida Department of Children and Families. Belinda lives in Brevard County, FL with her husband and their two children.
